:bulletpink: BEHIND THE SCENE :

(Actually I think I don't need to write these things since you're all have incredible sense of art. In addition, this animation doesn't have as many analogies as the previous one, I Ain't Pinocchio [link] . However, I just can't stand to write, so forgive me for the spam, okay? (",) )

:bulletblack: Why Daurian Redstart / Jōbitaki (ジョウビタキ) ?
Jōbitaki is said by the Japanese to be a stupid bird because it's not afraid of people and easy to be caught. Our Kazu here (the boy) has a similarity with the bird. He is abandoned and left alone. What's the difference from living in a cage like a bird?

:bulletblack: A wasted talent
A talent is a special feature of one which will find its meaning if it is shared with others.
So with nobody to share, what is the mean of 'talent'? It will drift away in vain, it will be a waste.

:bulletblack: Blind or pretending to be blind?
I do believe that some blind people can 'see' and some normal people is 'blind'. You may agree with it or not, but that's the reality--I think.

:bulletblack: Everything in this world is ruled by the law of giving and taking.
Remember when Kazu and the Sakura tree (Chloe) make a contract? Nothing is free and effortless. To get something, you must do something; and that's for sure. Even for something like the air ( try to imagine a dying man who needs to buy oxygen to keep on breathing and living. )

:bulletblack: Death = Gift = Freedom?
No one knows if 'Death' is really the greatest 'Gift' a man can have.
Nobody knows whether 'Death' really equals to the gate of freedom.
However, can you imagine how many people have committed suicide? Maybe they gave up on their life, maybe they thought that 'Death' can give them 'Freedom'.
According to me, 'Death' and 'Freedom' are totally different. Chloe knows this well, but Kazu doesn't.

:bulletblack: Bloom to your fullest, Guys!
Do not waste your talent, do not waste your life. Dare to dream, dare to discover!
We're all gifted--and wouldn't it be awesome if we share our gifts? ;D

:bulletblack: Does sacrifice always become a good thing for others?
"Because I was planning to give my body to you after I died... so that you could continue on living in this infertile soil."
Is Kazu really a good boy? Is Chloe really a stupid tree? If you think it simply, the answer is a 'yes'. But can you tell how Chloe would feel if that happened? Sometimes it exists in our real life -- realized or not.

:bulletblack: A lifeless life
Just living is not enough. We need some colors and more flowers. :3
I mean...who wants to live on the infertile soil?

:bulletblack: Life and death are inevitable
A dying man needs to die, and a sleepy man needs to sleep, and when the time comes, it is useless to resist. Death and Life keep rolling like an endless cycle--and that's what I call a perfect balance. There's time to survive and there's time to rest. So live as you would have live when you are dying.

:bulletblack: A cherry blossom who flutters in the wind
Wealth and authority will vanish into nothingness, but good names and sweet memories will always remain in our heart. Try to left precious traces in the hearts of your loved ones. :huggle:

:bulletpink: PROJECT DETAILS :

:bulletblack: English title : Nameless Hill
:bulletblack: Japanese title :名もない ( Namonai / Nameless )

:bulletblack: The first short poem can be read as :

" Torikago ni iru jōbitaki ga
Misuterareta, koritsusareta, nagekomareta
Dōyatte utsukushisa o misareru mono ka?
Dōyatte jiyuunitoberu mono ka? "

English translation :

" A bird in a cage
Abandoned, isolated, and thrown
How could it show its beauty?
How would it fly freely? "

:bulletblack: The last short poem can be read as :

" Kono sekai wa kayowakute
Saiteru sakura no youni
Kaze ni hatameiteru
Hitotsuzutsu no hanabira ga "

English translation:

" This world is so fragile
Just like a cherry blossom
Who flutters in the wind
One petal after another "

:bulletblack: Music : Namonaki Oka by Yoshida Brothers
(They're my favorite shamisen players in the entire world. >__< Please don't ban this work because of the song-- I don't use this work for commercial uses or take any material advantages. I just want to participate in popularizing Japanese traditional music --though it's popular already, lol. )

:bulletblack: Drawings / Graphics : 2 weeks ( Adobe Photoshop CS3 )
:bulletblack: Animation : 2 weeks ( Macromedia Flash 8 )

:bulletblack: Length : 14:21
( At first I had an idea to create a simple three-minute short story, but it 'mutated' into this stuff. |D )

:bulletpink: MISCELLANEOUS

:bulletblack: The chirp that you heard at the beginning of the animation is the real jōbitaki chirp. :3

:bulletblack: No sakura brushes used, all drawn by Ps default brushes.

:bulletblack: Those two do not die, I'm telling you. lol.
Namonai is a side-story of my 'Virtual World'; so they just go to the place where they belong and continue the adventure with Ruka and Centaro from my 'I Ain't Pinocchio'. :D

:bulletblack: Yes, You can use the letters in 'Le Shamisen' to write 'Nameless Hill' -- by adding two more 'L's. XD

:bulletblack: What's wrong with Kazu's eyes? Let the history remains a mystery. sshhh....

:bulletblack: Many of the scenes in this work popped out in my head while I was listening to Namonaki Oka for the first time. aasdfghjkkl it's so inspiring. A huge  for it!

:bulletblack: =Navio-Tantra and I spent the whole of our school holiday by making this-- please let us know that someone cares by giving critiques, comments, opinions, thoughts, suggestions, anything!

I think it is really deep , I mean it has a lot of deep thoughts... it is a beautiful work , I really love it ! but i think it still have some things where you can improve , like the animation , the movements and some repeated scenes , but it´s such a masterpiece and the entire video was awesome, I also think that if you want to put constantly the same song then maybe you could do some fade in and fade out when the song starts and ends , it will make it the animation go to another level , about the topic of this animation ; it´s a big topic and I probably would say I share the same thought
